This will be Georgia's 10th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and first since 2013. Georgia is 5-9 in NCAA Tournament postseason matches.

Black, in his third season at Georgia, will make his fourth Division I tournament appearance. Black guided Loyola Marymount to appearances in 2012, 2014, and 2015. In 2015, the Lions defeated Colorado State in the first round then upset #8 Stanford to punch its ticket to the Sweet 16 in San Diego.

Georgia concluded he regular season with a 21-9 record and 12-6 record in SEC play. 2019 is the second 20-win season in three years under the direction of Black. The last time Georgia had a pair of 20-win seasons in a three-year span was 1997 (20) and 1995 (21). The Bulldogs' 12 conference wins is also the most since 1994.
