Georgia Ranked No. 3 in the NCEA Preseason Rankings

ATHENS, Ga. ---After finishing as Reserve National Champions for the third-straight season, the University of Georgia equestrian team will begin the 2019-20 campaign as the third-ranked team in the nation, as announced by the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) Selection Committee on Wednesday. 
 
As the sixth-seed for the 2019 NCEA National Championship, the Bulldogs finished second overall and claimed the Western discipline title, along with the Horsemanship, Reining, and Equitation Over Fences event national titles. 
 
Defending national champion Auburn sits atop the preseason rankings, followed by Texas A&M, while Oklahoma State and SMU round out the top five.  
 
Baylor is ranked sixth, preceding South Carolina, TCU, Fresno State, and UT Martin to close out the rankings.  
 
Bulldog fans will get their first glimpse at the 2019-20 team at the annual Red and Black Scrimmage held on Friday, September 20 at 3 p.m. at the UGA Equestrian Complex in Bishop.
 
The season officially starts for the Hunter Seat squad on Friday, September 27 against Sweet Briar, before the entire team is in action on Saturday, October 5th against South Carolina.
